By default, Pega Platform provides a notification web gadget and email channels for delivering notifications. You can configure both these channels on the Channels tab. If you define custom notification channels, those channels are also available on this tab for configuration. For more information on how to create a custom channel, see the Adding a custom notification channel PDN article.
Notifications in a portal are displayed as messages in a web gadget.

Configure the email notification channel by using the following options.

Enable email | By default, this channel is available for all users. Clear this check box to disable this channel. |
Subject | Select the field value that holds your notification message. Subject also can contain parameters. This option is applicable only when the email notification preference is set to Instant. |
Correspondence | Select a correspondence template for the email message body. |
Default preference | Set a default notification preference for this channel for all users. |
