Notification rule form - Completing the Create, Save As, or Specialization form

Records can be created in various ways. You can add a new record to your application or copy an existing one. You can specialize existing rules by creating a copy in a specific ruleset, against a different class or (in some cases) with a set of circumstance definitions. You can copy data instances but they do not support specialization because they are not versioned.

Based on your use case, you use the Create, Save As, or Specialization form to create the record. The number of fields and available options varies by record type. Start by familiarizing yourself with the generic layout of these forms and their common fields:

Create a correspondence type rule by selecting Notification from the Process category.

A notification rule has the following parts.

Field

Description

Apply to Select a class to which this notification rule is applicable. The list of class names depends on the ruleset you select. Each class can restrict applying rules to an explicit set of rulesets as specified on the Advanced tab of the class form.
Identifier Enter a unique name for this rule within this class, beginning with a letter and using only letters, numbers, the underscore character, and hyphens.

Rule resolution

When searching for a skill rule, the system filters candidate rules based on a requestor's ruleset list of rulesets and versions.

Circumstance-qualified and time-qualified resolution features are not available for correspondence type rules.
