Restarting a listener

You can restart a listener that is already running in the cluster or in the specific node.

You can restart:

  • A single listener instance

  • All listeners of a selected type in the cluster or in specific node

  • All listener instances in the cluster or in the specific node.

To access the Listener Management landing page, view the list of listeners, and view more details about a listener, you must have the pzSystemOperationsObserver privilege. To perform all available actions on listeners, for example, to start or restart a listener, you must also have the pzSystemOperationsAdministrator privilege.

  1. Click Designer Studio > System > Operations > Listener Management.
  2. Select one of the following options for restarting listeners:
    • To restart all listeners of the selected type:
      1. Select a node from the list at the top left corner of the page:

        • Select All Nodes to restart listeners of the specific type on all the nodes in the cluster on which they are configured to run.

        • Select a specific node (either the current node or a remote node) to restart listeners of the specific type only on this node.

      2. Select the Restart by type option at the top of the page.

      3. In the empty field below the Start listener option, press the Down Arrow key and select the listener type that you want to restart.

      4. Click Apply.

    • To restart all listeners:
      1. Select a node from the list at the top left corner of the page:

        • Select All Nodes to restart all the listeners on all the nodes in the cluster on which they are configured to run.

        • Select a specific node (either the current node or a remote node) to restart all the listeners only on this node.

      2. Click Restart all in the top section of the page.

      3. Click Yes in the confirmation dialog box.

    • To restart a single listener instance:
      1. Select a node from the list at the top left corner of the page to manage listeners in the cluster (all nodes) or on a specific node (either the current node or a remote node).

      2. Filter the list of listeners to find the listener instance that you want to restart.

      3. Select the check box next to the listener instance.

        You can also select multiple listener instances to restart.

      4. Click Restart on the top of the listeners list.
