Configuring robotic process automation
Use robotic process automation (RPA) to integrate unattended robotic processing into your case type.
Before you begin, ensure that you have an automation that was created in Pega Robotic Automation Studio. For more information, see Automation configuration.
- Open the case type for which you want to run an automation by clicking Case types and clicking the case type.
- Configure the Pega Platform so that it can register virtual machines (VMs). A successful registration allows your application to monitor, track, and report on automation activity. For more information, see Configuring the Pega Platform to register virtual machines.
- Optional: Configure the heartbeat interval. For more information, see Configuring the heartbeat interval.
- Add and configure the Assign to robotic work queue shape, which creates an assignment that a VM retrieves, in your case type. On the shape, you configure the work queue to which to route the assignment and the automation that the VM runs after it retrieves the assignment. See Assigning a task to a robotic work queue.
- Optional: If you are using data pages to source automations, configure data pages so that you can obtain information from automations to display in a data page. You can also configure data pages so that you can save information to the data page that the automation sends to the source from which it obtained information. For more information, see Obtaining information from robotic automations.
