Rule status

You can set the status of a rule to indicate to users how they can use the rule in their application. Rule status does not affect validation, run-time functionality, or rule resolution.

The following status values are supported:

• API - The rule is an interface that defines standard input parameters and return values or results.

  Rules with this status most likely do not change in future releases.

• Deprecated - The rule may continue to function but is no longer supported.

• Extension - The rule can be overridden to support customization of Pega Platform functionality.

• Template - The rule provides default values that can help you save time.

  You can choose a template rule on the Create form, if the rule type supports templates.
