Verifying settings required to build a mobile app

Before you build a mobile app, make sure that several system-wide settings are properly configured. These settings are set up at the system configuration phase by the Pega Platform administrator in your organization.

If the settings required to build a mobile app are not configured, contact the administrator to verify that your organization has been licensed to use the Pega Mobile Client app building feature.
CAUTION:
Do not modify the following settings unless Pegasystems Global Customer Support has instructed you to do so. You obtain the values of these settings from your Pega account team.

The following system-wide settings must be set:

  • Authentication profile – The MobileBuildServerAuthentication rule contains settings required to authenticate the Pega Platform in the build server. Look for the MobileBuildServerAuthentication instance ID and verify if the following parameters are set:
    • User Name – If you have the license for the build server, this setting is required.
    • Password – An API token that is generated in the build server for the specified user name.
    • Preemptive Authentication – This setting ensures interoperability with trusted sites and applications.
  • Base URL – If you have the license for the build server, this setting is required. You must provide the URL address of the build server. Look for the Pega-AppDefinition • pega/mobilebuild/baseurl instance ID to verify if this parameter is set.

To verify the build server configuration settings:

  1. Copy instance ID.
  2. Paste the instance ID in the search field in Designer Studio.
  3. Press Enter.
  4. When the search results are displayed, click a link to view the rule details.
  5. Repeat the procedure for all instance IDs that are listed above.
