Retrieving device logs

By analyzing the device logs, you can troubleshoot and support offline-enabled custom mobile apps without disturbing device users. The Pega Platform requests the logs from the user's device during the next data synchronization.

Note: When you enable Client Clipboard and set the log level to Silent, the logs retrieved from the device are empty.
  1. Click Designer Studio > Mobile > Offline, and then click the Retrieve device log tab.
  2. In the Operator ID section, use the autocomplete field to enter the name of the user of the device for which you want to retrieve logs.
  3. In the Log level section, select the events that you want to include in the retrieved device logs (Error, Warning, Info, Debug, or Verbose).
  4. In the Log retrieval period section, select the time period for which you want the logs to be retrieved:
    1. Click All available logs to retrieve all logs that have been stored on the device for the custom mobile app.
    2. Click Specify duration to retrieve logs for a specified period. Select the start and end dates for the period for which you want to retrieve logs.
  5. Click Retrieve log to send a request to the mobile app to retrieve the device logs during the next data synchronization.
