Requiring a privilege for a rule
You can specify that a privilege is required to access or use a rule by updating the rule. Only certain rule forms include a privilege field, and for those that do, entry of a privilege is optional.
- Open the rule form for the rule that requires the privilege.
- On the Security tab or section, enter a privilege name.
Some examples of rules that require privileges include:
- Activities – Limit execution of the rule to users who hold a privilege
- Attachment category rules – Limit operations that can be performed on an attachment
- Correspondence – Limit use of the rule to users who hold a privilege
- Flows – Limit starting the flow to users who hold a privilege
- Flow actions – Limit selection of the action to users who hold a privilege
- Parse structured rules – Limit execution of the rule to users who hold a privilege
- Report definition rules – Limit which users can produce the report or chart
