Configuring the Stream service

View the current status of the Stream service and manage its nodes. The Stream service provides a resiliency mechanism that replicates processing data to multiple nodes to prevent data loss. Configure Stream nodes to ingest, route, and deliver high volumes of data such as web clicks, transactions, sensor data, and customer interaction history.

Before you begin:

This content applies only to on-premises deployments and applications.

  1. In the header of Dev Studio, click Configure > Decisioning > Infrastructure > Services > Stream Service.
  2. Add a node:
    1. Click Add node.
    2. In the window that is displayed, select the check box for the Stream node that you want to add. You can add multiple nodes.
    3. Click Submit.
    4. Refresh the landing page until the status of the node changes to NORMAL.
  3. To set the replication factor of the Stream service, click Edit settings.
The value of the replication factor determines the number of copies that are processed on the Stream nodes. For example, if you have three nodes and the replication factor is set to two, then all processing data is available on two of the three nodes. If one node goes down, processing continues on the remaining node.
  4. Optional: Click the row for the node to display detail information, such as the node ID, total memory used, and stream processing throughput.
  5. Optional: Manage a node by selecting an action from the Execute menu.
