Updating the owner of a space

You can update the owner of a space if you do not want to, or cannot own the space. For example, if you are leaving your organization, you can set relevant members as owners of the spaces that you own.

Before you begin: To update the owner of a space, you must be the owner of the space.

You can become the owner of a space in one of the following ways:

  • When you create the space. For more information, see Creating a space.

  • When the owner of the space sets you as the owner, the process for which is described in this task.

  1. In the navigation panel, click Spaces.
  2. Choose the spaces in your application to view.
    • Click All spaces to view the public and private spaces, and unlisted spaces that you are a member of.
    • Click My spaces to view only the spaces that you are a member of.
  3. Click the space for which you want to update the owner.
  4. On the Activity tab, click Edit space.
  5. Click the Change owner icon next to the name of the owner.
  6. In the field that is displayed, press the Down Arrow key and select a member to set as the owner.
  7. Click the Save icon next to the field.
  8. Click Submit.
    Note: After you choose another owner, you no longer own the space. However, you continue to be a member of the space.
