Specifying read-only and edit options for a DateTime control

Edit options determine when a control is editable or read-only for the application's users.

In the layout of the form that you are editing Adding a DateTime control to a layout.
  1. On the Presentation tab of the Properties panel, specify the Edit options for the DateTime control.
    These selections take precedence over section and harness settings.
    • To make the property editable for an application end user, depending on the edit mode of the enclosing section or harness, select Auto.
    • To make property values read-only for end users, select Read-only (always).
    • To select the expression used to evaluate the conditions in which property values are read-only, select Read-only (expression)

      In the adjacent field press the Down Arrow key to specify the condition.

    • To select the when rule used to evaluate the conditions in which property values are read-only, select Read-only (when rule)

      In the adjacent field press the Down Arrow key to specify the when rule.

    • To make the property always editable for users, select Editable.
  2. For read-only modes, use the Read-only value list to select one of the following settings:
    • To display the value of the property that you specify, select Another property's value

      In the field that is displayed, select the property for which you want to display the value.

    • To display the value of the selected property, select Property value.
    • To display the value of the constant that you enter in the field, select Constant.
    • To display the localized value of the property, select Localize property value.
  3. In the Label format field, press the Down Arrow key to specify a format such as Standard (label) or Heading 1 to be applied to the control's label at run time.
