Configuring the Real Time Data Grid service

Configure the Real Time Data Grid (RTDG) service to assess the success of your business strategy based on historical analysis and forecasting. You can also visualize and monitor business data by using the Visual Business Director (VBD) planner that is part of the RTDG service.

Before you begin: Add at least one Decision Data Store (DDS) node, and then add at least one RTDG node to start the RTDG service. For more information, see Adding nodes to Decision Management services.
  1. In the header of Dev Studio, click Configure > Decisioning > Infrastructure > Services > Real-time Data Grid.
  2. In the Real-time data grid nodes section, click Edit settings.
  3. In the Service settings section, configure the following settings:
    1. In the Cluster port field, specify the VBD node cluster port.
    2. To enable the system to try the next free cluster port when the port provided is not available, select the Cluster port auto increment check box.
    3. In the Allocated memory (mb) field, enter the amount of memory in megabytes (MB) allocated to the service operations.
      The default amount is 1,024 MB.
  4. In the Planner settings section, configure the following settings:
    1. In the Poll interval (seconds) field, enter the frequency for querying the server for new data.
      The default frequency is 10 seconds.
    2. In the Maximum objects at current dimension levels field, specify the … .
      The default amount is 5000.
  5. Click Submit.
  6. Optional: On the Real-time Data Grid tab, on the Execute menu, select an action that you want to run for the selected RTDG node.

  7. Optional: To display the status parameters of a selected RTDG node, on the Real-time Data Grid tab, click the row for that node.
