Advanced settings for a new application
You can configure the following advanced settings when you create an application.
Application settings
- Framework – Adds one class layer to the built-on application. You can reuse or extend a framework application later.
- Implementation – Adds one class layer to the built-on application. Implementation applications are typically not extended because they are specialized.
- Application ID – Enter an identifier for the application. This identifier must start with a letter, and contain only letters, numbers, and hyphens. If you do not specify an identifier, the system creates one.
- Version – Enter a number to identify the version of this application record.
Organization settings
- Organization name – Enter a name that is used to create organization, division, and unit rules, and to prefix class names within the organization layer. Alternatively, press the Down Arrow key to select an existing organization.
- Division name – Enter a name for the division in your organization. If you selected an existing organization, you can press the Down Arrow key and select a division that is in it.
- Unit name – Enter a name for the unit in your division. If you selected an existing division, you can press the Down Arrow key and select a unit that is in it.
Class layers
The class structure differs depending on the application type that you are using to create your application.
The following fields are available when you select an application structure that includes a framework layer.
- Organization – Enter a value to represent the organization name that you defined. This option is read-only when you choose an organization that already exists.
- Application – Enter a name that is used to create a framework class and ruleset.
- Class group name – Enter a name that is used to create a work pool.
The following fields are available when you select an application structure that includes an implementation layer.
- Generate reusable division records – Select this check box to extend the case class structure by creating a division class layer.
- Generate reusable unit records – Select this check box to extend the case class structure by creating a unit class layer. This option is visible when you select Generate reusable division records.
- Organization – Enter a value to represent the organization name that you defined. This option is read-only when you choose an organization that already exists.
- Division – Enter a name that is used to create a class for your division. This option is visible when you select Generate reusable division records.
- Unit – Enter a name that is used to create a class for your unit. This option is visible when you select Generate reusable unit records.
- Application – Enter a name that is used to create an implementation class and ruleset.
- Class group name – Enter a name that is used to create a work pool.
