Building an iOS app

To create a mobile app from a Pega Platform -based web application, so that your users can install it on their iOS devices, navigate to the Channels and interfaces form.

Before you begin: Before you can build, run, or distribute a mobile app for the iOS platform, you must:

Generate several certificates in the Apple Developer Portal:
- Mobile provisioning certificate
- Distribution certificate
- Optional: a widget provisioning certificate
- Optional: an Apple Push Notification service (APNs) certificates that are used for push notifications
You then must upload the generated certificates to the Pega Platform and save them in a certificate set. For more information about generating certificates, see the Generating mobile certificates for the iOS platform Pega Community article.
Configuring a mobile app.

In the Build your application panel, select the iOS switch.
Set up a certificate set for the app:
- If a certificate set does not exist, click New and create a certificate set. For more information, see Creating an iOS certificate set.
- If a certificate set already exists, select an existing certificate set. For more information, see Selecting an iOS certificate set.
Optional: Specify mobile app versioning by expanding the App version section:
- In the Version field, enter the release version for your app. For more information, see Auto-incrementing app version.
- Select the Set build version check box, and in the field that appears, enter the build version for your app. For more information, see Setting the app build version.
Optional: To build a specific version of the app, select the version of the client that you want to use.

Click Save.
Click Build now.

Result: The files are sent to the build server and are used to build the .ipa file for the iOS app.
