AJAX functionality

Asynchronous JavaScript and XML (AJAX) technology is used in the Pega Platform for:

  • Dynamic select operations
  • Deferred loading of sections of user forms
  • Displays on user forms and flow action forms of calculated values computed by declare expression rules
  • Pop-up windows associated with report displays (known as the SmartInfo feature)
  • SmartPrompt support
  • Autocomplete JSP processing
  • User interface events, such as Visible When, Refresh When
  • Several form-based rule forms
Note: If your application uses a JavaScript-event and URL to start execution of an activity using AJAX, select the May Start? check box on the Security tab of the Activity form.
