Connect BPEL rules – Completing the Create, Save As, or Specialization form

Note: The rule type Rule-Connect-BPEL is deprecated. Use Service SOAP rules instead.

Records can be created in various ways. You can add a new record to your application or copy an existing one. You can specialize existing rules by creating a copy in a specific ruleset, against a different class or (in some cases) with a set of circumstance definitions. You can copy data instances but they do not support specialization because they are not versioned.

Based on your use case, you use the Create, Save As, or Specialization form to create the record. The number of fields and available options varies by record type. Start by familiarizing yourself with the generic layout of these forms and their common fields using the following Developer Help topics:

This information identifies the key parts and options that apply to the record type that you are creating.

Create a Connect BPEL rule by selecting Connect BPEL from the Integration-Connectors category.

Note: Before you can create a Connect BPEL rule, create the SOAP service and connector rules that implement the operations for the BPEL process.

A Connect BPEL rule has three key parts: service package, service class, and namespace. These keys identify the SOAP service and connector rules for the connector rule as described in the following table:

Field Description
Service Package Select the service package of the appropriate SOAP service rules. The Service Package and Service Class identify the SOAP service rules to be included in the Connect BPEL rule.
Service Class Select the Service Class name of the appropriate SOAP service rules.
Namespace Namespace references the values entered in the Namespace field of SOAP connectors. Enter the namespace of the SOAP connector rules to be included in the Connect BPEL rule.
