A global resource setting is a property value on a data page that is referenced through specific syntax on a connector rule, or by a data instance that supports a connector. A global resource setting can reference any property of the appropriate type on a data page.

The use of global resources settings for references to external systems, rather than fixed text values in rule forms, allows greater flexibility for changing values such as port numbers, addresses, and URLs.
