Previewing rules

If you have the @baseclass.ToolbarFull or @baseclass.ToolbarPreview privilege, you can preview the run-time appearance of certain rule types by selecting Actions > Preview. A dialog box appears and displays a partial run-time preview of the rule.

You can preview the following rule types:

• Harnesses
• Sections
• Controls
• Activities
• Flow actions
• HTML rules
• Edit Input rules
• Edit Validate rules
• Properties of Single Value mode
• Flows

If you preview a harness, section, flow action, activity, or HTML rule, the system creates a clipboard page and initializes properties on that page. In turn, the initialized properties might start declarative processing. Accordingly, use caution before implementing any on-change declarative processing that updates a database.
