Referring to Dev Studio menus

To create consistent documentation and facilitate localization of different menu elements for the user, follow these guidelines and examples of references to the menus and other items in Dev Studio.

    Referring to the Application menu and the Create menu on the header of Dev Studio

  • For the Application menu in Dev Studio that is represented by the cube icon on the far left of the header, write:

    For example: In the header of Dev Studio, click Application.
  • For the Create menu that is represented by a plus sign when the window is not fully maximized and by Create when maximized, write:

    For example: In the header of Dev Studio, click CreateSysAdminSystem Settings.
    Note: The user clicks the plus sign but the hover text is Create menu.
  • Switching to another studio from the Dev Studio header

  • To instruct a user to switch to a different studio from the header of Dev Studio, write:

    For example: Click Dev StudioApp Studio.
  • Referring to the navigation pane in Dev Studio

  • For items in the navigation pane (on the leftmost side of the window), write:

    For example: In the navigation pane, click RecordsReportsReport Definition.
    For example: In the navigation pane, click Case types, and then click the case type that you want to open.
