Creating a license

Updated on April 5, 2022

Create a license to ensure that you comply with the terms of your software agreement.

Before you begin: Ensure that Pegasystems has determined that you need a license, and has provided the license text file.
  1. In the header of Dev Studio, click CreateSysAdminLicense.
  2. In the Short description field, enter the purpose of the license.
  3. In the License Name field, enter a unique name.
  4. Click Create and open.
  5. Click the Import tab.
  6. In the New license data to be imported field, enter the values from the license text file that Pegasystems provides.
  7. Select the Import new license data when saved check box.
  8. Optional: On the Summary tab, refine the default settings for your usage reports.
For example, you can choose a retention period for recorded data or control how much detail to include in the reports.
  9. Click Save.
  10. Open the system rule for your production application, by searching for it or by using the Records Explorer.
  11. In the License parameters name field, enter the name of your license.
  12. Click Save.
  13. Stop and restart your system.
What to do next: Review your usage reports by selecting options from the ConfigureSystemLicense menu item.
