Creating a system target data instance

Updated on April 5, 2022

To use the Product Migration wizard or command-line tool to migrate a product from one system to another, create system target data instances on the source system.

The values that you enter for host name, port number, and context root are combined to form a target URL value in the Product Migration wizard.
  1. In the navigation panel, click App, and in the search field, enter Data-Admin-System-Targets.
  2. Click Create.
  3. Enter a short description and a unique name for the target system.
  4. Click Create and open.
  5. Optional: To use SSL security when transferring data, select the Https? check box.
  6. In the Host name field, enter the server name or IP address of the target server.
  7. In the Port number field, enter the target server port number, for example, 8080.
  8. In the Context root field, enter the target server context root name, for example, prweb.
  9. Verify the default Username and Password for connecting to the target server, and override if needed.
  10. Click Save.
