System security data instances

Updated on April 5, 2022

System security data instances are used by the Product Migration wizard and command-line tool to enable the target system to download migration data from the source system.

The DiagnosticData servlet on the source system can read from the directory where the product migration data is stored. You configure access to this servlet in the source application server.

Pega Platform uses the credentials that you define in a system security data instance to access the servlet and retrieve the product data.

Two default security roles, PegaDiagnosticUser and PegaAuthUser, are created during installation. For more information, see the Installation Guide for your platform.
