Troubleshooting your system

Updated on August 25, 2021

Platform provides troubleshooting tools, resources, and articles that you can use to solve common problems you may encounter.

  • Accessing self-service troubleshooting resources

Several troubleshooting resources are available on Pega Community, such as release notes, troubleshooting articles, and conversations with experts.

  • Understanding logs and logging messages

You can categorize log files to more easily identify which loggers are for which features, and you can set log levels for categories and for individual loggers.

  • Viewing system settings in on-premise systems for troubleshooting

To diagnose configuration issues across the cluster, use the Admin Studio System settings page to verify the system settings for a node or cluster. For nodes running in Pega Cloud services environments and client-managed cloud environments this task is not supported; the deployment automatically manages any required node recovery.

  • Tracer results window

The header row of the tracer results window contains the Pega node hash and computer name. For cluster-wide tracing of service rules, the tracer displays a separate section for each node that reported events.

  • Troubleshooting background processing

Pega Platform provides a variety of methods for analyzing and troubleshooting background processes, including job schedulers, queue processors, and agents.

  • Recovering from a high availability system crash

The Pega Platform provides crash recovery for browser and servers. With crash recovery enabled, the Pega Platform saves the structure of the user interface and relevant work metadata to the database on user interface events.
