Managing your case archiving and purge process
Actively manage your case archival process to improve performance and resolve errors more quickly.
- Configuring archive cycle settings
Create and configure archive settings to improve performance and control batch size by creating and modifying the system settings that you use for data archiving.
- Configuring purge cycle settings
Use dynamic system settings to configure aspects of a post-archive purge cycle, such as the duration of a purge cycle, to improve performance during purge cycles, and to control the intervals at which purge cycles occur.
- Configuring expunge cycle settings
Use dynamic system settings to configure different aspects of a post-archiving permanent deletion cycle for expunging cases from the Pega Cloud File Storage repository. Use these settings to track the archived cases that you permanently delete from Pega Cloud File Storage.
- Monitoring your case archival and purge process
View the completion of your archiving and purge jobs within a single view using the Log-Archival summary class and its associated log files. Alternatively, view the pr_metadata table, which holds all of the pyArchiveStatus and other information about all records that are processed by the three types of archival jobs.
- Reviewing archived case data
Search for archived cases to review data that is no longer in primary storage but is only in Pega Cloud File Storage, to confirm the success of archive processes, perform regulatory tasks for statutes such as HIPAA, or to search for previous business history.
- Recovering archived case data
After your archived case data meets its data retention policy and Pega Platform deletes the file from the /archive sub-folder in Pega Cloud File Storage, you have a 30-day window to recover the deleted archived case data.
