Classifying rules for license compliance
You can classify a rule to control how your system reports its usage. By providing an accurate account of the types of rules in your production application, you can ensure that you comply with the terms of your software agreement.
You can classify the following rule types:
- Operator IDs:
- Use the Records Explorer to find the Operator IDs in your application.
- For each Operator ID that supports an agent, process, or external assignment, click the name of the Operator ID to open the Operator ID form.
- Click the Security tab.
- In the License type list, select Invocation.
- Click Save.
- Data pages:
- Use the Records Explorer to find the data pages in your application.
- For each data page that modifies data in the Pega Platform database only, click the name of the data page to open the Data Page form.
- On the Definition tab, select the Local save check box.
- Click Save.
- Integration connectors:
- Use the Records Explorer to find rules in the Integration-Connectors category.
- For each rule that connects to an external system but does not modify
its data, select the Call is read-only check
box.
The location of this check box can vary, based on the type of rule that you are updating.
- Click Save.
- For information about classifying case types, see Selecting a license category for a case type.
