Specifying the environment name

Updated on July 8, 2022

Make it clear to which system you are currently logged on by specifying the environment name for each system in your organization.

The environment name is displayed when you click the production level in the upper-right corner.

By default, the system environment is named after the production level, for example, Development or Production.

  1. In the navigation pane of Dev Studio, click Records.
  2. Expand the SysAdmin category, and then click System.
  3. Click the name of the system for which you want to specify the environment name.
  4. In the Environment name field, enter a name for your system environment.
Tip: Use a unique name that distinguishes your environment from other systems with the same production level. For details about production level support, see Specifying the production level.
  5. Click Save.
What to do next: Restart your system for the environment name changes to take effect.
