Specifying system-wide security parameters by using system data instances
Specify system-wide parameters, for example, the production level, to apply to all nodes in the system.
System data instances are occurrences of your Pega Platform
system. They are instances of the data-admin-system rule. Your system can
include more than one data-admin-system instance. However, only one is in
current use. The data-admin-system instance in current use is identified
by the identification/SystemName
value in the prconfig.xml
file
or in the dynamic system settings.
- Specifying the production level
In on-premises systems, administrators can specify its production level, thereby defining operator access and permission to make changes to the system. Production levels control the types of permitted changes and specify the purpose of the environment, for example, development or production.
- Specifying the environment name
Make it clear to which system you are currently logged on by specifying the environment name for each system in your organization.
- Specifying the lock time-out
Make sure that users do not lose their work or have it overwritten, by specifying the maximum time that a system remains locked when opened.
- Specifying the number of concurrent sessions
To provide system security in a multi-node environment or in the cloud, prevent operators from creating new sessions after reaching the maximum number of concurrent sessions.
