Viewing column BLOB size

Updated on July 8, 2022

You can view the size of columns that use a binary large object (BLOB) on your internal PegaRULES and PegaDATA databases on Pega Cloud using Schema Tools.

Before you begin: You need the PegaRULES:DatabaseAdministrator role to access Schema Tools. For more information, see Adding a role to an access group.
Note: Pega Platform uses Query Runner, Query Inspector, and Schema Tools for Pega Cloud clients to interface with their database. These database tools are not available for on-premises clients.

This operation might be time consuming and should not be performed during peak production hours. The operation continues in the background if you leave the Schema Tools landing page. The retrieved values are displayed the next time you view the column details.

  1. In the header of Dev Studio, click ConfigureSystemDatabaseSchema Tools.
  2. Expand the database schema tree and select the column you want to view.
  3. Click Get BLOB sizes to get initial sizing of BLOB columns.
  4. Click Refresh BLOB sizes to refresh sizing of BLOB columns after initial sizing.
