Question
Skimming allows you to take lower-version-numbered rules and copy them to a new major version. We understand that only the highest numbered versions of rules are actually moved. So what should we do with the older rules in production that aren't assigned the higher version number? Should we just leave them alone? Delete them?

Answer by Shawn Morrissey
PRPC is enterprise software which uses rule resolution to find the right rule at the right time. Rule resolution does not use rules from lower major version numbers. However, because of Sarbanes-Oxley (SOX) legislation and other reasons, you should retain these older rules on your system. Once a RuleSet has been migrated to production it should be locked and should never be deleted.
