Configuring Decimal, Integer, and Percentage fields

Collect numerical information by using a standard field that checks if the user-provided format of data is correct. Create clean, intuitive forms for your users with less effort by selecting the field type that best matches your business needs.

Configuring Decimal fields

Configure fields that record positive and negative numbers with a fractional component. For example, you can use this field to capture the weight of the patient.

  1. In the navigation pane of App Studio, click Case types, and then click the case type that you want to open.
  2. On the User interface tab, click the column-based view that you want to edit.
  3. In the Edit view section, click the Configure icon next to the field that you want to edit.
  4. Configure standard field settings, such as visibility and labels.

  5. In the Decimal places fields, enter the number of decimal places that you want to display in the field.
  6. Optional: To use a numerical separator in your field, select the Show thousands separator checkbox.
  7. In the Read-only settings section, define how to display the field in non-editable contexts:
    1. In the Format list, define how to present the number in read-only forms.
    2. For the Currency format, complete the additional configuration. For more information, see Configuring a Currency field.
  8. Click Save.

Configuring Integer fields

Configure fields for storing positive and negative integers. For example, you can use integer fields to capture the age of a borrower.

  1. In the navigation pane of App Studio, click Case types, and then click the case type that you want to open.
  2. On the User interface tab, click the column-based view that you want to edit.
  3. In the Edit view section, click the Configure icon next to the field that you want to edit.
  4. Configure the standard field settings, such as visibility and labels.

  5. Optional: To use numeric separators in your field, select the Show thousands separator checkbox.
  6. In the Input settings section, in the Display as list, select how the users interact with the field in editable views:
    ChoicesActions
    Enter valueSelect Input.
    Use buttons to change valueSelect Stepper.
    Select from a sliding range
    1. Select Slider.
    2. In the Min value field, enter the minimum value for the field.
    3. In the Max value field, enter the maximum value for the field.
    4. In the Default value field, enter the default value for the field.
    5. In the Increment field, define the step for the slide.
    6. Optional: To hide the field that displays the number that the user selects on the slide, clear the Show numeric input checkbox.
    7. Optional: To hide the ticks that indicate the slider step, clear the Show ticks checkbox.

  7. In the Read-only settings section, define how to display the field in non-editable contexts:
    1. In the Format list, define how to present the number on read-only forms.
    2. For the Currency format, complete the additional configuration. For more information, see Configuring a Currency field.
  8. Click Save.

Configuring Percentage fields

Configure fields that store positive and negative decimal numeric values that the application displays as a percentage. For example, you can use this field to display the interest rate on a mortgage.

  1. In the navigation pane of App Studio, click Case types, and then click the case type that you want to open.
  2. On the User interface tab, click the column-based view that you want to edit.
  3. In the Edit view section, click the Configure icon next to the field that you want to edit.
  4. Configure the standard field settings, such as visibility and labels.

  5. In the Decimal places fields, enter the number of decimal places to the right of the decimal that you want to display in the field.
  6. Optional: To use numeric separators in your field, select the Show thousands separator checkbox.
  7. Click Save.
