Adding a Currency control

Updated on November 15, 2021
Applicable to Theme UI-Kit applications

A currency control is a purpose-specific control. It has properties that let you define its exact presentation behavior to support one or several currencies.

A preview of the currently selected format displays to the right. You can also preview formats by selecting ActionsLaunch in the toolbar and then choosing one of the following preview options: Run Process, Open Portal, Harness Preview, UI Gallery Preview, Skin Preview.

  1. Open the harness or section that you want to modify.
  2. On the Design tab, from the Data capture list, drag Currency onto the work area.
  • Purpose-Specific Control- General tab

Click the Gear icon in the control's header to display control's properties panel, and then select the General tab.

  • Currency Properties – Presentation tab

Click the View properties icon in the currency control to display the Currency cell properties panel, and then select the Presentation tab.

  • Using the Currency Control

The autogenerated control can display a selected currency using its symbol, code, full name, or ISO code. However, for readability, the decimal separator and thousands separator come from the locale. In addition, if the currency is displayed as a 3-digit code, it can show the ISO code before or after the amount (and optionally delimited by a forward slash):
