Specifying the list source for a Multi-select list control
Specify the data source-data page, clipboard page, or report definition-for the Multi-select list control. At run time, the list is automatically refreshed with new items whenever the property value changes.
Prerequisite: Add a Multi-Select list control.

In the
Type
field in the
List Source
section on the
General
tab of the
Properties
panel, specify the data source for the list:
Data page
- Select this setting and in the corresponding Data page field, press the Down Arrow key to select the data page to use as the source of the list values.
- If the data page has parameters, you can pass parameter values to it. Press the Down Arrow key in the Value field to specify the value that you want to pass to the data page.
Clipboard page
- Select this setting and in the corresponding Clipboard page field, press the Down Arrow key to select the clipboard page to use as the source of the list values.
- Determine whether the clipboard page is available at run time when the data is needed. For example, when the flow action or user form is displayed, is the work item present with appropriate data?
Report definition
- Select this setting and in the corresponding Data page field, press the Down Arrow key to select the report definition to use as the source of the list values.
- In the Applies to field, specify the Applies To class of the report definition.
- Optional: If the report definition has parameters, press the Down Arrow key in the Value field to specify the value that you want to pass to the report definition.

In the
Search results configuration
section, specify the
properties that are available for searching in the results set for the list.
- In the Data source property field, press the Down Arrow key to select the property from which the list is sourced.
- Select or clear the Show option to indicate whether the property is displayed in search results.
- Select or clear the Set value option and corresponding Property field to limit search results by value.
- Optional: To set a limit for the number of results returned for the list, enter a number in the Maximum results to display field.
- Optional: To specify the minimum number of characters that must be entered to create a list of possible matches for the list, enter a number in the Minimum characters to search field.
- Optional: To highlight the search string in each place that it occurs in the results display, select the Highlight match check box.
- Optional: To compare the search string only with the start of each string in the data-and not include in the results items where the string occurred in some other position-select the Match start of string check box.
