Hierarchy rules

Updated on April 5, 2022

A hierarchy rule defines relationships among text values. Each rule can define an entire hierarchy, or a branch (subtree) of a larger hierarchy.

Note: This rule type is deprecated. Use navigation rules instead. For more information, see About Navigation rules.

At run time, an activity can use standard functions to load the entire hierarchy, consisting of the root rule plus all branch rules. Other standard functions can navigate through the hierarchy to locate nodes, determine which nodes are immediate children of a specified node, and so on.
