Specifying the date range for a Timeline control
To identify the date range of the events to display in a Timeline control, complete the following steps.
In the Event section field on the General tab of the Properties panel, specify the section to use when displaying the event at runtime. Specifying the event section gives you control over the look and behavior of the event. The section must be in the class of the event item.
In the Event start date property field, specify the name of the property to be evaluated for the start date of events on the timeline.
Optional: In the Event end date property field, specify the name of the property to be evaluated for the end date of events on the timeline. If this is blank, event end dates are not displayed.
In the Show events from list, select the date range for displaying events. You can choose from these options:
- All Events – Choose All Events to display events regardless of date.
- Last 1 week, Last 1 month, Last 3 months, Last 6 months, Last 1 year, Last 5 years – Choose a time period preceding the current date at run time for events to be displayed. The control compares the event's start date to the current date to determine whether the event is displayed.
- Custom – Specify a Start Date property and an optional End Date property for the event date range. This range is not relative to the system date.

In constructing a user form, you can add a Timeline control so that application users can view events along a horizontal timeline. The timeline can have a start date and an optional end date that restrict the events that are displayed.
