Building a UI for mobile apps

Updated on February 7, 2022

Give your mobile app a functional UI that suits your business requirements and supplements your desktop application. Pega Platform offers a number of out-of-the-box solutions that help you create a user-friendly mobile product with less effort.

For example, the uPlus company has an Expenses application in Pega Platform that their employees use to submit and manage expense reports. To address the latest efficiency audit, the company wants to speed up expense management by supporting mobile expense reports. As a uPlus developer, your task is to build a stand-alone and native-like mobile app that supports advanced mobile device features, such as push notifications or the offline capability.

Discover more about mobile UI setup in the following articles:

  • Adaptive and responsive mobile interfaces

Adaptive and responsive interfaces help your application successfully reach users through a variety of channels. By using Pega Platform features to build an adaptive and responsive interface, you can ensure that your application displays correctly on any mobile device.

  • Mobile-specific behavior

Mobile apps, which you can use in any place at any time, offer a convenient alternative to desktop applications. Pega Platform makes use of existing case data to create a mobile UI with no additional coding, while giving you a choice in the behavior of mobile-specific components.

  • Understanding offline features

When you design an application to work on a mobile device, and then expand the application to let users create and advance cases offline, to ensure that your application operates reliably without a network connection, get familiar with a detailed description of individual offline-supported features.
