Pega Platform 8.5 now provides improved synergy between revision management and the automated deployment process provided by Pega's Deployment Manager 4.8 pipelines. Use Deployment Manager 4.8 to increase the efficiency of business-as-usual application changes and automate the deployment of revision packages.
Instead of manually deploying revision packages, you can run CI / CD pipelines to merge a revision package to the development system of record (SOR) and subsequently deploy that package through to your production environment by using a deployment pipeline.
Changes made in your business operations environment are merged into the system of records and deployed to each environment, as shown in the following figure:
You can initiate the deployment process from the Pega Customer Decision Hub portal by deploying directly to a selected revision pipeline, as shown in the following figure:
After you initiate the deployment of a revision to a pipeline, Deployment Manager queues the revision for merging. After a successful merge, the revision deploys automatically. You can then monitor the status of the deployment process in the Pega Customer Decision Hub portal, as shown in the following figure:
You can also use CI CD pipelines to deploy business-as-usual changes requested by business users in Pega 1:1 Operations Manager.
