Increase the flexibility of business change management with improved revision management (8.5)
Pega Platform™ 8.5 provides several enhancements to the business change management process. Revision managers can now work on any revision, including revisions created by other revision managers, as well as create change requests that consist only of a new rule, with no updates to existing rules. Strategy designers and revision managers can also run simulations on a revision package as part of the change management process.
In previous versions of Pega Platform, each revision manager could work only on revisions that they themselves created. Starting with Pega Platform 8.5, revision managers can access and work on any revision that is available in the system. Changes made by users are displayed in the Audit tab of a revision, together with the name of the operator who made the change, as shown in the following figure:

To make the creation of change requests even easier, revision managers can now create change requests that are not associated with an existing rule, as shown in the following figure:

As a revision manager, create change requests without selecting an associated rule when you want to request a new rule instead of updating an existing one. As part of the request creation, you must specify the rule to be created, as shown in the following figure:

The revision approval process now has an optional simulation step that you can use to track the performance of your strategy and view a comparison with the previous revision. This step gives the Revision Manager an opportunity to look out for performance challenges within the revision. The configuration of this simulation is consistent from revision to revision and uses default settings that you set up before using Revision Management.
