Manage access for personas more efficiently in App Studio (8.6)

Updated on May 11, 2021

For more detailed configuration and increased security of your Microjourney™, you can now define what actions personas can take in cases. You configure persona access in a low-code and user-friendly way in App Studio, instead of performing more advanced operations in Dev Studio.

Personas represent groups of users of your application, such as managers or customer service representatives (CSRs). When you configure access settings at the persona level, you save time and resources because you provide configuration for an entire group of users. You also improve the security of your application by ensuring that users can perform only relevant actions on cases. For example, in an application for reviewing loan requests, you can provide access to cases that process requests from VIP clients only to managers and senior CSRs. You can also specify that only CSRs can update data in a case, while managers view cases to assess the progress. You can also decide what data in your application, such as the personal details of customers, each group of users can view. As a result, you protect access to sensitive or classified data.

The following figure shows a process of configuring access for a persona:

To provide a more efficient way of configuring personas, App Studio now merges the content of the People and Access tabs into a new User management tab, so that the application development process is more intuitive.
