Plan your Microjourneys more conveniently in an improved Case Designer (8.5)

Updated on December 2, 2021

Case Designer in App Studio includes now a number of enhancements to offer a more user-friendly and intuitive way of planning Microjourneys™. To convey all the details of your business process within a single window, you can now add draft attachments that represent information that users provide at run time, such as scanned documents or correspondence. You can also create draft relationships between personas and channels directly in the Case Designer, instead of providing all the relevant channels first, so that the planning process is more flexible and dynamic. Draft relationships work as placeholders for connections between channels and personas that your development team needs to implement in order to deliver an application that meets requirements of your Microjourney.

For example, in an application for reviewing loan requests, you can create a Loan applicant persona, and then immediately assign a LoanRequestor mobile channel to indicate elements that a development team needs to implement. To save time, you can now assign channels directly in the Case Designer, without entering another landing page in App Studio. For more efficient organization of information, personas and data objects now list all the associated channels and systems, instead of displaying individual entities for every association. To provide clearer distinction, each channel and system displays a different icon, so that you can quickly locate the information that you need, as in the following example:

To access information that is relevant to you more quickly, the filtering settings are now persistent, so that you do not need to apply filters every time you open a case type, for example, when you want to view stages and steps only. For greater flexibility, the filtering settings are also specific to every App Studio operator, so that every person who works on a case type can adjust the filters to their individual needs.

To meet unique requirements even in advanced scenarios, you can now also create a persona that has access to a developer portal, for example, when a manager needs to access App Studio to modify case types.

Planning Microjourneys is part of Pega Express delivery approach - a way of delivering applications in a no-code, goal-oriented way. To experience an intuitive, no-code, and user-friendly journey, ensure that your application in App Studio supports Pega Express.
