Specify properties from associations and declarative index classes in policy conditions (8.6)

Updated on May 12, 2021

The Access Control Policy Condition form has added a new tab. The Data Access tab greatly improves the security of Pega Platform™ by expanding the security model and improving the functionality and flexibility of the authorization model. The addition of this tab simplifies data access by enabling you to select from associations and declarative index classes when creating policy conditions.

Previously, the Column source allowed entry of properties only for the Applies to class. Now, you can specify a property from associations and declarative index classes in addition to the Applies to class.

The new functionality allows you to use the Column source field on the Definition tab to add associations and declarative index classes in your policy conditions. When you select associations and indexes, the information added to the Definition tab auto-populates on the Data Access tab.

The following figure shows the new Data Access tab, with a user adding pyUserName to the Column source field.
