What's new in Process Commander V5.3 - Java Date and Time Library

Updated on July 11, 2012

Released in July 2007, Process Commander V5.3 offers dozens of new capabilities for developers, application users, and system administrators, and resolves issues found in earlier versions. For an overview, see What's new in Process Commander 5.3.

The International Component for Unicode (ICU) Java classes — used in previous versions — are  replaced with the equivalent classes from the standard Java distribution. This change:

  • Allows Process Commander to exploit new decimal hardware assist facilities expected in IBM’s Power 6 architecture.
  • Makes support for future changes to Daylight Savings Time easier to implement, by simply using the time zone data update tools provided by the Java vendors.

No required changes to your application rules or code have been identified.
