Importing changes to data collectors

Updated on May 5, 2021

Efficiently complete a large number of changes to data collectors by importing bulk changes using a CSV file.

  1. In the header of Pega Workforce Intelligence, click AdministrationOrganization.
  2. On the Organization page, click Data Collectors.
  3. In the upper-right corner of the page, on the Actions menu, click Export Users.
Result: A file named data_collectors_users.csv is downloaded.
  4. Click the file to open it and save it to your preferred location.
  5. If you choose to delete rows from the file so that you can add changes to a cleaner file, select the rows, right-click, and choose Delete.
Note: If you select the rows and then press the Delete key on your keyboard, it can create issues when you import the file.
  6. Add or update the data collector information from your system of record to the columns in the exported file, using the following guidelines:
Note: Bracket characters, including [] and <> are not, are not supported values.
    ColumnDescription
First NameThe first name of the data collector.
Last NameThe last name of the data collector.
Primary IDThe main network ID that this data collector uses to complete work. Some data collectors might use only use one ID. Others use multiple IDs.
Alternate IDsAdditional network IDs that the data collector uses to complete work. When you add an alternate ID, any work the data collector completes with this ID is associated with the Primary ID for reporting purposes. If you add multiple alternate IDs in this column, separate each with a forward slash, such as AB1/CD2/EF3.
Note: You can only merge data collectors in the import file. You cannot split data collectors using this file. To split data collectors, see Splitting data collectors.
TeamThe name of the department or team to which this data collector belongs.
Team Unique IDThe unique identifier for the team or department to which this data collector belongs. This value is required because business units can have the same name. This ID is case-sensitive.
Most Recent ShiftLeave this column blank for initial import of new data collectors.
Client ConfigurationThe configuration that you want to assign to this data collector. Leave this column blank if you want the data collector to inherit the configuration options assigned to its team.

Custom configuration files might also be set up for your organization. Consult with your system administrator to determine which configuration file should be assigned to this data collector.

As you finalize the CSV file, keep the following guidelines in mind:
    • The maximum number of rows supported in the spreadsheet is 5,000.
    • The maximum file size supported for upload is 1MB.
    • When you export and open the file in a program like Excel, the program could change the format of your data, such as removing any leading zeros. See Exporting and Importing IDs in Workforce Intelligence for more information.
  7. After finalizing your changes to the spreadsheet, save it as data_collectors_users.csv.
  8. In the header of Pega Workforce Intelligence, click AdministrationOrganization.
  9. On the Organization page, click Data Collectors.
  10. In the upper-right corner of the page, on the Actions menu, click Import Users.
  11. On the Import Users window, drag your updated data_collectors_users.csv file to the box, or click the box to browse and select the file
  12. Click Import.
Result: The system imports the data collector information for your organization. A success message is displayed at the top of the Import Users window.
  13. Close Import Users window.
