Using the Application Administration page
Review parts of the Application Administration page so that you can use it to map applications and verify the mapping.
The first time you log into Pega Workforce Intelligence, no applications are mapped and the top of the Application Administration page looks similar to this example:The colored bar indicates how many applications have been mapped into the various categories. Since none have been mapped, 100% are in the Unknown category.
The following categories appear on this page:
- Unknown
- Production
- Other Work
- Non Work
By default, Unknown appears at the top, where you map applications.
To move a category to the application mapping area, click the Edit icon of the category you want to move.
When a category is in the application mapping area, Pega Workforce Intelligence shows the following information about each application in that category.
Column | Description |
Display Name | This is a user-friendly name you enter for the item. |
Name | The actual executable name, URL, or Off Computer Reason Code. |
Screen Details | You can enable or disable the capturing of screen details. You can also set a screen to Test to have details only collected for a select group of users. |
Opportunity Tags | Assign the following tags to applications to tell the system how to evaluate those applications as it identifies opportunities:
For example, if you consider Skype to be an Instant Messenger application, you would assign the Instant Message (IM) tag to the Skype application. Once tagged, the Instant Messenger opportunity would capture opportunities within the Skype application. Use the Noise tag to omit applications, screens, or webpages from sequence and set-based opportunities. For example, you could mark Microsoft Outlook as Noise to omit data that is accumulated on Outlook from Central Application Exit Opportunities and instead focus on production-related applications. |
Total Hours | The total hours accumulated for this application, website, or Off Computer Reason Code. |
Group | The group in which this application or website belongs. Groups let you combine similar applications into a single entry. For instance, you could group all of the Microsoft Office applications, such as Word, Excel, PowerPoint, and so on, into a single Microsoft Office group. |
Work Category | This column shows one of the following work categories.
|
To change the sort order of the items, click the Sort icons, which appear beside each column heading.
When an application is not in the application mapping area, the system displays the following information:
Column | Description |
Name | The executable name or URL. |
Total Hours | The total hours accumulated for this application or website. |
