Testing the connector for use in an admission

Create an admission notification for a patient with heart failure.

Before you begin: Ensure that you specify a length of stay greater than six days.

  1. If your implementation layer is built on CareManagement_8, follow these steps:
    1. In the header of Dev Studio, click Launch portalInteraction Portal.
    2. Click NewOutbound Phone Call.
    3. In the left pane, click Add Action, click Admission notification.
    4. Go to step 6.
  2. If your implementation layer is built on Care Management, log in to your implementation layer by using your end-user credentials, and then perform the remaining steps.
  3. In the portal, click Patients, and then enter a patient name in the Search for patient field.
  4. In the Patient ID column, click the ID.
  5. In the patient profile, click ActionsNewAdmission notification.
  6. In the Manage notification step of the wizard, enter the admission details. Select at least one diagnosis code, and click Continue.
  7. Complete the steps and fields in the wizard and click Finish. Ensure that your admission requires a concurrent review.
  8. Open the admission case.
  9. In the Admission case tree section of the admission case, click Concurrent Review.
  10. Confirm that the episode summary in CareWebQI is for the patient that you specified, and then search for the information that applies to your case.
  11. When a guideline code is appropriate for the patient, click Select in the right column.
  12. Complete fields in the Document section that apply to the patient.
  13. After you finish work in the episode summary, discharge the episode and verify that the Transaction completed section appears.
  14. Click Submit.
  15. Confirm that the episode summary is on the Administrative tab in the patient profile in your Pega Care Management application.
