Automated generation of branding images
Pega Mobile Client can now automatically generate native branding resources based on templates provided in a .zip file. For details, see Uploading branding assets.
Preventing Pega Mobile Client from being closed by the Android operating system
This release of Pega Mobile Client introduces a feature that prevents Pega Mobile Client from being closed by the Android operating system after it is sent to the background, for example, after a barcode scanner is started. Without this feature, users often had to reauthenticate when returning to the application. A foregrounding service starts automatically when an external activity is opened, which reduces the risk of the client being terminated. At this point a notification is displayed with the following message: “Waiting for an external action to finish." The service is closed after returning to the client. Additional JavaScript methods have been added to the Container API, which enable starting the service for a set period of time, as well as manually stopping the service. These methods can be used, for example, when the user gathers data to enter on a form.

Windows Phone 8 availability of the Web Browser API
As of this release, Pega Mobile Client supports the Web Browser API on Windows Phone 8 devices, with one exception: because of platform limitations, the window.close method is not available. For details, see the Browser article.
