Analyze intentions in text analytics

Valid from Pega Version 7.3

You can now analyze text content to determine whether it contains any underlying intention. Through intent analysis, you can determine whether your customers are likely to continue subscribing to your services, want to know more about your products, or whether you are facing customer churn. Based on the detected intentions, you can take appropriate actions to ensure the growth of your business and minimize customer churn. Intent analysis is supported only for the English language.

For more information, see Intent analysis and filtering.

Decision Analytics portal replaces Predictive Analytics Director portal

Valid from Pega Version 7.3

The Decision Analytics portal replaces the Predictive Analytics Director (PAD) portal, the Text Analytics landing page, and the Adaptive Models Reporting landing page. In this new work area for predictive analytics and text analytics, the business scientist can control the full model life cycle by building predictive models, importing PMML models, building sentiment analysis and text classification models, creating and monitoring adaptive models, and updating any existing models.

For more information, see Overview of the Decision Analytics work area.

Remotely start automation server jobs to perform branch operations

Valid from Pega Version 7.3

You can remotely start a job on your automation server, such as Jenkins, after an activity has occurred, for example, after you push a branch to a remote system of record. You can configure a continuous delivery pipeline on the job by using the branches REST service and merges REST service to detect conflicts, merge branches, and return the status of the merge. By remotely starting a job to detect conflicts and merge branches, you can more quickly deliver higher-quality software.

For more information, see the following PDN articles:

Multistatus case dependencies replace custom implementations

Valid from Pega Version 7.3

You can now quickly define a case dependency that supports variations of a resolved status, such as Resolved-Completed and Resolved-Rejected. Because the definition of a resolved case now includes all status values that start with the word “Resolved,” you can replace custom logic in your application with a Wait shape that you configure in a flow.

For more information about defining a case dependency, see:

Enhancements to branches

Valid from Pega Version 7.3

Several enhancements to branches make it possible for you to now do the following tasks.

  • You can see all branches in your application and built-on applications by clicking App > Branches.
  • You can view all the rules in a branch in addition to quality statistics, such as the number of merge conflicts and guardrail warnings.
  • You can run PegaUnit tests that are configured on rules in a branch.
  • You can import branches from and push branches to a repository.
  • You can create reviews of branch contents.

For more information, see Enhanced features for branches.

Case types and data types open in a landing page

Valid from Pega Version 7.3

In Pega® Express, Case Designer and the Data Designer now open in a landing page rather than a modal dialog. This enhancement improves the user experience for creating and updating case types and data types.

Deprecated support for Microsoft ActiveX controls

Valid from Pega Version 7.3

Beginning with Pega Platform 7.3, Microsoft ActiveX controls are no longer supported in any version of the Pega Platform, and technical support for ActiveX is limited. It is recommended that you use HTML-based, cross-browser solutions for improved performance and greater security.

For more information, see Deprecation of ActiveX controls in Pega Platform.

Edit sections in Pega Express at run time

Valid from Pega Version 7.3

You can enable editing of sections that were created by a template. Run-time editing allows Pega Express business users to identify and edit sections that contain content. You mark sections as editable by selecting the Allow section to be edited at runtime check box on the Settings tab of the section. For more information, see Run-time editing of sections in Pega Express.

Event type browsing on the Customer Movie landing page

Valid from Pega Version 7.3

Event Browser is a new option on the Customer Movie landing page that provides insight into the history of customer interactions. You can retrieve data from the Event Store data set for a particular customer or a group of customers, display the events in a timeline, and browse a list of event types.

For more information, see Browsing events for a customer or a group of customers.
