BIX performance improvements for CSV output in the Pega Cloud

Valid from Pega Version 7.2.1

BIX performance has been enhanced to download up to 25 GB of data per hour for extracts from a BLOB-less class table for CSV output. This high-throughput option is available only for Pega Cloud instances that use a Postgres database. This option is used automatically for these types of extracts.

When this option is used, the –x and –c command-line options for BIX are not supported, and the checkSum field in the manifest summary is not populated. If you need these options, you can revert to the previous implementation by using a setting in the prconfig.xml file.

For more information, see BIX high-throughput data downloads in the Pega Cloud.

Improvements to the Document Application tool

Valid from Pega Version 7.2.1

Application profile documents and application documents generated by the Document Application tool have been improved to present information in a more logical order based on how the application was built (for example, by case life-cycle management). Also, these types of documents now include all specifications linked with an implementation rule, presented in logical order under the implementation rule.

In addition, to help you more efficiently drive decisions by stakeholders, you can specify whether to include related built-on application layer assets in application profile documents and application documents. For specification documents, you can specify whether to include specifications from the built-on application layer.

For more information, see Document Application tool.

Associate specifications on implementation rule forms

Valid from Pega Version 7.2.1

You can now view, add, and delete the specifications that are associated with a rule on the new Specifications tab of most rule forms. The Specifications tab is available for almost all implementation rules, except for administrative and deprecated rule types. By associating specifications with the rules that implement them, you improve the end-to-end traceability of your specifications.

For more information, see Associating specifications on implementation rule forms.

Case-insensitive filtering in reports

Valid from Pega Version 8.2

Filtering in reports is now case-insensitive, improving the reporting and searching experience. You can turn off case-insensitive filtering, for example, by using an activity. You might want to do this if your index is too big or if the length of time it takes for indexing impacts performance.

For more information on report filtering, see Editing filter conditions.

More display options for charts

Valid from Pega Version 8.2

Display properties have been expanded for charts that you add to a report harness or section. In addition to setting general display properties, you can set visibility and color options, control hover highlight behavior for data points and legends, and define more presentation options for grids and tooltips. The additional presentation options enhance your chart design and provide a way for you to effectively highlight important data.

For more information about configuring charts, see Harness and section forms - Adding a chart.

Better navigation between pages

Valid from Pega Version 8.2

The navigation between landing pages and configuration pages in App Studio has changed so that only one tab at a time is displayed in the work area. This change eliminates the maximum tab limit message. Navigate to previous pages by clicking the back arrow at the top of the work area or click the Back to preview button in the workspace header to open a page in the selected device preview.

Progress gauge and double donut charts

Valid from Pega Version 8.2

To better visualize data, use the new progress gauge chart and double donut pie charts. The progress gauge chart measures the progress made against a goal. The double donut pie chart shows two layers of data in a single chart. The progress gauge chart can be included in reports and dashboard widgets. The double donut chart can be added to dashboard widgets.

For more information about including charts in reports, see Harness and section forms - Adding a chart.

For more information about adding charts to dashboard widgets, see Adding a widget to your dashboard.
