Tomcat log files moved to work directory

For Tomcat application server users, the default path for PRPC logs has been changed to the "work" directory for Catalina. For example:

<tomcat>\work\Catalina\localhost\prweb

This directory can be cleaned up during administration. To avoid loss of files, you can redirect logging to a different directory after installation:

1. Navigate to the <tomcat-home>\webapps\prweb\WEB-INF\classes directory.
2. Open the prlogging.xml file.
3. Locate the "appender" definitions section that contains the "@{web.tmpdir}" string
4. Update the FileNamePattern values to point to the new directory.

Slow WebSphere performance on Mac platforms

Use the following JVM setting to improve WebSphere performance on Mac platforms:

-Djava.net.preferIPv4Stack=true

Split schema systems require additional privileges

On Oracle split schema systems, add the following database privileges:

• Grant DROP ANY INDEX to the Admin User.
• Grant UNLIMITED TABLESPACE to the Rules User.

Use the Oracle Enterprise Manager to add these privileges or refer to the 7.1.3 Upgrade and Installation guides for Oracle.

Add subspaces within spaces

You can now create subspaces within spaces. By adding a subspace, you can collaborate on a subtopic that is related to the topic of the parent space. For example, you can create an Annual Day subspace within the Events space.

Support for sourcing case and Pulse attachments from repositories

You can now source case and Pulse attachments from repositories, which provides a complete solution for attachment management. In addition, unlike other external sourcing solutions, repositories do not require OAuth 2.0 authentication, so that you can connect to repositories that use non-interactive authentication.

Add varied content to a case with Recent content gadget

In an end user portal such as Case Manager, you can now add any type of file to your case by using a Recent content gadget. You can create documents by using a rich text editor, uploading existing files, or attaching URL addresses. Collaborate on all types of content with other members of your team by providing the necessary documents for your case.

Pin enhancements in spaces

Improve discussions in spaces and stimulate effective communication by using enhanced capabilities of pins. For example, you can search, filter, and like pins, or pin content of a space to another space.

Create and assign tasks in Pulse

You can now create and assign tasks in Pulse for case work that needs to be completed within a specific time frame. For example, you can assign a task to yourself as a reminder to upload proof of address documents to a Car Loans case by the end of the day.

Improved search indexing performance

Search indexing now uses a queue processor to improve indexing performance. Indexing can automatically restart if the database goes down temporarily. This saves time and manual action. As a result of using the queue processor for indexing, the following changes have been made to the Search Landing page.

• You cannot cancel indexing from the Search landing page. Cancel indexing by stopping the queue processor from the Data flow landing page.
• The progress message is not shown. View progress on the Queue Processor landing page.
• Queue processor information has been added.

Personalize survey questions by reusing properties

Now you can create more dynamic and personalized surveys by incorporating answers to previous questions in subsequent questions. For example, you can ask users to provide their place of residence, and then reuse this data in the questions that follow. By using this feature, you create personalized surveys that are more engaging and more specific to users’ needs.
