Outbound email templates for email bots

Valid from Pega Version 8.6

Pega Email Bot™ now provides built-in templates for outbound email and an option to create your own, custom templates. You can use this feature to standardize branding for your applications and the company through your communication channels. For example, customer service representatives (CSRs), who use the Email Manager or Case Manager portals, can apply these templates to strengthen your brand's presence in every email that they send or that the email bot automatically sends as an acknowledgment for a user email.

You select an outbound email template when you configure the Email channel. The system provides you with three built-in outbound email templates that you can select or modify to fit the requirements of your organization.

For more information, see Creating an Email channel and Creating outbound email templates.

Enhanced run-time behavior of the currency and number controls

Valid from Pega Version 8.6

The currency and number controls now display separators at run time, even as the user types the values. When the user enters more than three digits, a locale-dependent separator immediately groups the digits into thousands in real time. For example, when a user who is based in the U.S. types 100000, the input field displays the number as 100,000. The currency control additionally displays currency symbols at all times, whether the input field is in focus or not.

This enhancement improves clarity and the user experience because the user no longer needs to move away from the field to see the formatting of the input, and typing long strings of numbers is now more convenient.

For more information, see Controls.

Theme management in Cosmos React

Valid from Pega Version 8.6

App Studio now features an updated interface for managing the look of the theme in Cosmos React environments. The theming page enables you to quickly rebrand the theme's component library by selecting fonts, colors, and logos, while also displaying a live preview of the UI. This enhancement provides a more intuitive way to adjust the presentation options in your React-based application, which saves development time and encourages prototyping and experimentation.

For more information, see Defining themes in Cosmos React

Improved support of browser actions in Cosmos React UI

Valid from Pega Version 8.6

Pega Platform™ applications that use the Cosmos React now maintain user settings for the duration of the session. For example, if a user applies filters and sorting to a table, and then opens a new document, the application retains the table settings when the user navigates back to the page by clicking the browser back button.

This change improves user productivity by reducing the need to repeatedly apply the same settings.

Improved modal dialog boxes

Valid from Pega Version 8.6

In Theme Cosmos applications, modal dialog boxes for case creation now support width customization. In addition to a bigger default width, the FlexModalTemplate format now includes the following CSS helper classes, which enable developers to adjust the width of dialog boxes:

  • modal-width-1_5x – sets the minimum width to 960p.
  • modal-width-2x – sets the minimum width to 1280p.
  • modal-width-max-content – sets the minimum width to the maximum width of the content.

In this way, users can now more comfortably create entries that require more descriptive information, for example, bugs. In addition, the background of all modal dialog boxes is now translucent, which highlights the focus of the dialog box as the only active part of the UI.

For more information, see Modal dialog box.

Association of incoming emails with triage cases

Valid from Pega Version 8.6

Customer service representatives (CSRs) can now associate an email triage case with existing business cases or service requests. As a result, CSRs can respond more quickly to information about the same issue reported by customers several times. The system displays a list of related service cases for the same customer that CSRs can then associate or disassociate from the open email triage case in the Email Manager or Case Manager portal.

For more information, see Associating service requests with a triage case and Keep related incoming emails together for a triage case.

Secure email threading mechanism in email bots

Valid from Pega Version 8.6

Pega Email Bot™ now uses a secure built-in threading mechanism to ensure that all email communication between customer service representatives (CSRs), customers, and other stakeholders is secure and organized in separate threads for a triage case. For this purpose, the system embeds a unique encrypted security code in the body of outbound emails that identifies related triage cases, service requests, and forwarded emails.

For more information, see Understanding email triage process and Use a secure threading mechanism for emails.

Improved case previews and case utility enhancements

Valid from Pega Version 8.6

The collapsible preview panel in Cosmos applications has been enhanced. The preview panel now helps users complete assignments in the previewed case directly from the panel, to save time. The preview also includes a clickable case stage link which displays an overlay with the case life cycle and all its steps for better context.

Additionally, to help save screen space when a case is fully opened, the collapsed or expanded state of the utility panel now persists for all cases that you open in the same browser tab.

For more information, see Enhance the case processing experience in Cosmos Rules applications (8.6).

Multiple sessions in separate browser tabs or windows

Valid from Pega Version 8.6

Theme Cosmos applications introduce an enhancement to the existing ability to work on multiple cases simultaneously in separate browser tabs or windows. You can now open an entire application in, for example, two separate browser tabs, without one session refreshing and overriding the other. As a result, users gain more flexibility and freedom in how they work.

For more information, see Adding a dynamic container to a portal.

Improved tabbed layout group

Valid from Pega Version 8.6

Tabbed layout groups now generate semantic markup, which helps conform to accessibility standards. As a result, the tabs in the preview panel support numbers, for example, for items that might require attention, and a horizontal scroll bar if the number of tabs does not fit the display.

For more information, see Enhance the case processing experience in Theme Cosmos applications (8.6).
