Skins can inherit formats from a parent

Valid from Pega Version 7.2

Skin inheritance allows a dependent skin to inherit formats and mixins from a parent skin. This feature provides a modular organization of styles, reducing the cost of maintaining skins. You can create a specific mobile skin to include mobile-specific styles and disable unused styles to decrease the size of the CSS. Inherited formats are displayed on the Inheritance tab of the skin. Formats that are specific to the skin are displayed on the My formats tab.

For more information, see Skin inheritance.

Paginated lists in repeating dynamic layouts

Valid from Pega Version 7.2

Repeating dynamic layouts can now display paginated lists. Pagination reduces the cost of loading the entire list onto the browser. You configure pagination on the General tab of the layout properties.

For more information, see Dynamic Layout Properties - General tab.

Heading level support

Valid from Pega Version 7.2

You can configure heading levels for containers that support headings. Headings facilitate accessibility by making the UI understandable to assistive technologies. You can edit headings in the Base settings tab of the skin.

For more information, see Base settings.

Cannot view all custom context posts in Pulse

Valid from Pega Version 7.2

When you use Pulse in a custom context, the custom context label is displayed as plain text instead of as a link that you can click to view all posts that are associated with the custom context.

For more information about Pulse, see the help topic Pulse.

Processes run by default when a stage is restarted

Valid from Pega Version 7.2

The Run on re-entry check box in Case Designer has been removed. As a result of this change, processes run by default each time that a stage is restarted. Users who previously had this check box cleared can use the Start when option in Case Designer instead to define the criteria for skipping a process.

For more information, see Adding a process to a stage.

Create and associate specifications in Case Designer

Valid from Pega Version 7.2

You can now create and associate specifications with steps and user forms when you design a case in Case Designer. You can reuse the specifications in the current case and other case types. By defining specifications, you can generate a more meaningful application profile document.

For more information, see Associating a specification with a step, Associating a specification with a user form and Enhancements to the Direct Capture of Objectives.

Conversion of single-step assignments is no longer required

Valid from Pega Version 7.2

You no longer need to create a single-step assignment in a case type and then convert it to another supported step type. Instead, you can use the + Add step option in Case Designer to add any step type directly to a process in a stage. This change delivers a more consistent experience to users who are working in Case Designer and Process Modeler.

The following table lists the step labels in Case Designer that were updated to support this change.

Team management

Valid from Pega Version 7.2

As a case manager or manager of a team, you can manage all your teams and direct reports on the My Teams page in Case Manager. You can create teams or delete existing ones, as well as update team membership and work queues assigned to the team. You can also update and manage workload, time off, and skills information for individual team members. Social collaboration through Pulse is also available for both teams and individual users.

For more information, see Managing team information and work queues.

Device preview includes a configurable list of common mobile devices

Valid from Pega Version 7.2.1

Pega Express device preview displays your application in a simulated mobile device. By previewing your application, you can view the user experience on a desktop, tablet, or phone. You can select from a list of common devices or add devices to the list by editing Pega-DevicePreview-Device.

For more information, see Previewing an application on a mobile device.

Design templates in Pega Express

Valid from Pega Version 7.2.1

You can now use design templates to control the layout of form fields in Pega Express. Use the form builder Layouts tab to select a layout for the form and organize the fields in the layout regions.

For more information, see Adding a design template to a form in Pega Express.
